REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The items in this section are mandatory in order to register for participation in the inter-active features of Ripples Across The Years websites.

You may change your password at any time. However, at this time, you MAY NOT change your username or e-mail address once selected.

Username	Enter the username you wish to use on these sites. This is NOT your real name. You may NOT change your username after you submit your registration request.
E-mail address	You MUST supply a valid e-mail address. This is where your registration confirmation message will be sent and where update notifications will be delivered.
Password	Enter the password you wish to use on these sites. Please make sure you have a way to remember this password. This password becomes encoded and there is no way for us to re-send it to you if you forget it. However, in the event you do forget it, the login procedure provides a mean for you to get an interim password.

PROFILE INFORMATION

The information in this section is to tell other users a little something about yourself and how to contact you. This information is optional. It is publicly viewable, meaning it can be viewed by any user, not just registered users.

ICQ Number	If you have an ICQ Number and wish to make it known so others can contact you via ICQ, enter your Number here.
AIM Address	If you have an AIM Address and wish to make it known so others can contact you via AIM, enter your Address here.
MSN Messenger	If you have an MSN Messenger account and wish to make it known so others can contact you via MSN Messenger, enter your Account ID here.
Yahoo Messenger	If you have an Yahoo Messenger account and wish to make it known so others can contact you via Yahoo Messenger, enter your Account ID here.
Website	If you have your own website and would like to let others know about it, enter the complete URL here.
Location	Enter the title of your website here. I know this seems a little backwards, but that's the way it is. :-(
Occupation	If you wish to let others know what you do for a living, enter your occupation here.
Interests	If you wish to let others know what your major interests are, enter them here.
Signature	Signatures are disabled. This tends to clutter the posts, making it difficult for others to follow.
HTML	You may use the following HTML codes: b, i, u, pre, and center. No others are allowed. HTML is normally turned off when you go to post a message or reply, but you may turn it on from the posting screen if you desire.
BBCode	BBCode is a substitute for HTML. Click on the highlighted BBCode word on the registration screen for more information. BBCode is normally turned on when you go to post a message or reply, but you may turn it off if you desire.
Smilies	You may use smilies in your posts. A list of available smilies is displayed on the posting screen. You may turn smilies off when you go to post a message or reply.

PREFERENCES

The items in this section allow you a certain amount of control over message board features.

Show e-mail address	If you wish others to be able to e-mail you, set this to YES, otherwise leave it set to NO. Your actual email address is NOT displayed, only your username shows if you wish email to be enabled. This is a blind link to your actual email address.
Hide Online Status	If set to NO, then others will be able to see whether or not you are online. If you do not wish others to know when you are online, set this to YES (remember, it hides your status).
Reply Notification	Set this to NO, if you do not wish to be notified when someone replies to a topic you have posted. If you set this to YES, an email will be sent when someone replies. This can be changed whenever you post a message.
Notify Private Message	Set this to YES, if you wish to be notified whenever someone sends you a Private Message. Otherwise, set it to NO.
Attach Signature	Set this to YES if wish you signature (see above) to always be attached to your posts. Otherwise, set it to NO.
Language	English is the only language currently available for the board.
Style	Board style is controlled by the Administrator. Whatever you select will be overridden by what the Administrator has chosen. This MAY change down the line when the Administrator has more time.
Time Zone	Set this to the appropriate time zone where you reside. Note that the time zone is based on Greenwhich Mean Time. So you are in a time zone that either adds or subtracts from GMT to get your local time. For instance, the U.S. EST is GMT-5 (GMT-4 for Daylight Savings Time).
Date Format	Choose the format in which you wish the date to be display. Click on the word 'date' on the registration screen to see all the options. It is recommended however that you use either D M d, Y g:i a -or- D d M Y g:i a. This will display the day of the week, and either month, day, year or day, month, year and the time of day.

AVATOR CONTROL PANEL

This section allows you to select a small image (avatar) to be displayed with your posts. There is a rather large selection of images to choose from. The images are separated into several galleries, each containing a number of images.

Click 'Show Gallery' to see the first of several galleries. You may select additional galleries from the gallery screen currently showing. To choose an image you wish to represent you, click on the little circle beneath the image and click on 'Select avator' at the bottom of the screen.

You may change your avatar at any time. Or you may delete your avatar at any time.

SUBMIT YOUR PROFILE

When you are satisfied with the information you have entered in your Registration Information/Profile, click the 'Submit' button. This will update your Profile (or create a Proifile for you if this is the first time you have registered).

You may return to your Profile at any time and as often as you wish to make changes.
